Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine 406-303-1714
“What I love most about Chinese Medicine is the newness of each day. Every person has a unique story and an individual healing journey to embark upon. I am fortunate to be a part of this process and try to view each person’s condition as a new opportunity, like greeting the dawn of a new day.”
Paul Gourguechon brings to the table over 20 years experience as a Licensed Acupuncturist with a specialty in Tung-style pain management. Paul, whose pursuit of excellence in Chinese medicine has included an internship at the Chengdu University Hospital, has a calm and engaging manner that mirrors his deep knowledge and skill. His interest and respect for Chinese culture began while focusing on Asian Studies at the University of Michigan, and he began to learn about and experience Chinese medicine while teaching English and studying Mandarin in Hualien, Taiwan.
Paul was trained at the International Institute of Chinese medicine in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he earned a Master of Oriental Medicine degree. He continued his studies at the Chengdu University Hospital in Sichuan, China, interning in Cardiology, Dermatology, Gynecology, and Acupuncture. His continuing training in distal point acupuncture includes advanced training by Richard Teh-Fu Tan, O.M.D. and Dr. Henry McCann, L.Ac. Paul has also served as an instructor and student clinic supervisor at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine and the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver.
Beyond getting people feeling better with acupuncture, Paul views educating clients about their health as a primary goal. “Acupuncture treatment will last a matter of weeks or months, but an understanding of one’s constitution, and how to enhance it are wellness tools that offer lifelong benefits.” In addition to providing this guidance in the clinic, Paul offers classes and speaks to the community on various wellness topics.
